Photo of the Month: Dam infrastructure upgrade

Welcome to June’s Photo of the Month at Bulk Fuel Australia. Every month we showcase a fuelling solution project we’re particularly proud of. Previously we’ve highlighted our event experience with diesel fuel delivery at the Woodford Folk Festival, how we refuel fleet equipment at Australia’s largest coal port and how we navigate a hub of activity at the Kingsford Smith Drive Upgrade.
Our team have outdone themselves this month with this photo of a Bulk Fuel tanker in the midst of refuelling a fleet of CAT dozers at one of South-East Queensland’s dams.
Dams are a life-long asset and require continual assessment, monitoring and maintenance. Many of the dams in this area were built back in the 1960s and ‘70s and, of course, since then there’s been a lot of advances in dam design and construction, as well a population growth relying on the dams and major changes in climate, all of which affects the reliability of our dams.
This particular dam supplied about 20-25% of South-East Queensland’s drinking water and is just one of a number of dams across SEQ to be upgraded as a part of Brisbane’s Dam Improvement Program. Millions of dollars are being poured into the upgrade, which will strengthen the dam wall and spillway to improve safety.
Safety is something we here at Bulk Fuel Australia take very seriously, and we demonstrate our safety-first approach every time we refuel earthmoving equipment such as the ones seen here. Contact Bulk Fuel Australia to see how we can help your organisation run smoothly with the highest quality diesel fuel around.
