In addition to taking care of the safety and performance of our people, we are also proud sponsors of the Central Queensland branch of The Australian Stock Horse Society.

The Society has been operating since its 1971 inception in the New South Wales town of Scone. It was formed with the express purpose of preserving and promoting the Australian Stock Horse, a bloodline that has long been noted for its versatility and superior performance. The Stock Horse is known as “the breed for every need” and the Society meets regularly across Australia with more than 9,500 registered members and well over 180,000 horses registered in its Stud Book.

The mighty challenge

In July 2018 the Central Queensland ASHS held an All-Breed Stockman’s Challenge, where a wide range of local and visiting society members put their best horses up for a series of contests. These included cattle work, led and working tests across various age groups and breed types.

Bulk Fuel Australia is the proud sponsor of the Hack events. This includes the Ash Stallion 5 & Over, Ash Mare 5 & Over, Ash Gelding 5 & Over, Ash Filly 4 & Under, Ash Gelding 4 & Under and the Champion Ash. Hacks are a series of riding challenges that can sometimes include small jumps or navigating obstacles while maintaining good stature. The winners of each event rode away with a cash prize and the satisfaction of a job well done. Congratulations to all the contestants and champions of the day. We would also like to thank the event organisers for such a well-run and fun event for the local community. The quality of the horses on display was second to none.
